What were your impressions of your destination?
Certainly!! Kenya is an amazing and breath-taking destination. Our accommodation was as expected: clean and basic and I would love to go back tomorrow!!
Was the work interesting and challenging?
Yes - I could plan my own activities and we were given a lot of scope for bringing our own ideas to projects. It meant that the children experienced Western activities and gave them lots of fun and education!
What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?
I was staying in a homestay during my project. It was the best experience as the family would do anything they could to accommodate my needs. There were other volunteers staying in the house and it was a great mix of locals and volunteers.
Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?
The staff that worked for i-to-i were well trained and very calming. Any stress felt by volunteers was relieved and we were given great orientation and advice in country.
Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?
I couldn't have organised a trip like this initially without i-to-i. Next time sure I feel more confident to go back myself but they provided me with the service I needed. So yes
