What were your impressions of your destination?
Kenya as a destination is a beautiful country although there is quite a culture shock on arrival. Within a few hours I was over this and appreciating my surroundings.
Was the work interesting and challenging?
Yes the work was both interesting and challenging. I working in an orphanage where kids came form a very disadvantaged background. Their stories were both heartbreaking and inspirational.
What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?
The food was good an the accommodation was basic but good. The fruit out there is amazing and western food is easy to get and not too expensive. People are welcoming and friendly and they ponder to your every need.
Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?
Yes I found the staff and organisation to be very helpful both pre departure and while I was out there. Any question or concern I had was answered with reassurance and at any time day or night.
Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?
Yes. It can look expensive but I found it well worth it to have the security of the in-country team.
