What were your impressions of your destination?

Uganda is a beautiful country. We lived on the bank of the river Nile which couldn't be more picturesque. People are really friendly and positive.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

It was what you made of it. Expected to help with repair and building of schools and tree-planting, but can also focus on teaching English/Maths, coaching football if interested, or introduce something completely new.

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

I lived with 16 people in dorms. It had a guard, an AV employee and someone from the conservation scheme living with us. The neighbours were welcoming and gave fruit and veg. There was no electricity or running water (except for river which was used for washing).

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

Very happy, they let you get on with it, but are able to help if you want it. Ideal balance.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

It was overpriced.

Would you recommend the project to others?

Yes
