Name: Imogen

Hometown: Warminster

Destination: India

Project type: Teaching English

Organisation: Frontier

What were your impressions of your destination?

Centre of Bangalore, I arrived not knowing the address I was going to or knowing who was going to pick me up.  I found out that in India Frontier had put us with another organisation, Peacechild.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

I felt a little disappointed, we ended up playing games instead of teaching.

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

Very basic, uncomfortable, but it was to be expected, it was very poor around where we stayed, there was a shanty town opposite us where children were tied to trees so when their parents went off to work they stayed out!

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

Peacechild were very nice.  The people who ran it were lovely, in my opinion it would be better to go through them! Not Frontier, you lose out around £500 to Frontier and you will still meet people through peacechild if you are worried about meeting people etc.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

No, I feel they are a complete rip off.  A number of my group were hugely upset at the disorganisation.  Peacechild had no idea about what excursions we had paid for, so it all got very confusing.

Would you recommend the project to others?

No
