What were your impressions of your destination?
My first impressions of Fiji were that it was a very hot tropical country, with very friendly and welcoming people. During my stay this was proved right,and Fiji is a great destination for sports because the Fijians love their sport,and they have so much passion.
Was the work interesting and challenging?
If you're passionate about sports and coaching in the developing world, this is the place to be! The country lives and breathes sport but what it lacks is organisation, regular coaching and access to organised sports events/activities.You're there to provide this and the kids are great, they listen, co-operate and are a joy to coach, you have only to match their passion and enthusiasm and you will have a great time trusted! You even get to play in matches yourself against the enthusiastic locals, teachers or not. It was so great and a fantastic experience.
What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?
I was pleasantly surprised, the accommodation was of a good standard. The house was equipped with all your usual everyday appliances, swimming pool, air con and a balcony, with comfortable rooms. I felt very welcome when I arrived and throughout my stay, everyone makes you welcome and includes you in social events.
Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?
Yes! The staff at mad hq were very helpful in helping set it up. Then the staff in Fiji made me feel welcome and helped me settle in and made sure we all did our share of the cooking/cleaning. If you had any concerns or issues or ideas you wouldn't hesitate to share it with your crew.
Do you feel you got value for money on the project?
YES DEFINITELY !
