What were your impressions of your destination?

I absolutely loved the city (Cochabamba) as it never felt too touristy or dangerous (although there were places you had to be careful in). It was also really central in the country, which was good for weekend travel.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

I really enjoyed the place I worked, but sometimes felt I wanted to do more but couldn't, partly because of my poor Spanish. However, the children more than made up for that and every day offered new rewards.

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

I stayed with a host family (arranged by the organisation) who were really lovely, and always made me feel welcome, even taking me on family trips. I also had my own room, access to a washing machine, although others didn't and some had to share with other volunteers.

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

I was happy with the staff - they were mostly really helpful, and there were very few problems, although others had more problems. I found the organisation a little unhelpful in the run-up to me going, especially as my flights changed without notice.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

No. Having been out there, I understand how little of my money came into the country (for example you are told some goes to host families, but it is a miniscule amount). I have also seen adverts for independentely organised volunteering (ie without having to pay for it), which if I were to do this again I would choose. Having said that, I am glad I did it this way, as I wouldn't have had the confidence to come out without knowing what I was going to be doing, and so would never have seen this country.

Would you recommend the project to others?

Yes
