Name: Katherine

Hometown: Oxford

Destination: Bolivia

Project type: Animal Sanctuary Project

Organisation: Quest Overseas

What were your impressions of your destination?

It had such friendly people living there, all of whom welcomed us throughout our time there.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

Working with monkeys had always been a lifetime ambition of mine, and actually being able to do it was amazing. I will never forget the first time a monkey jumped on me and started grooming my hair! The work was very challenging, but so rewarding- who wouldn't want to take a puma or jaguar for a walk in the rainforest!? There was also a huge variety of other animals from ocolets to parrots and toucans.

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

The accommodation was pretty basic, but by the time you had had a long day working with the animals you were well and truly ready for bed, so even sharing your room with tarantulas didn't matter!

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

Definitely! I had two leaders, both of whom were so friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be with. We always had lots of fun, but what felt like a safe, well organised environment.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

Absolutely. The experiences which I had will remain with me forever, and I can honestly say that so far in my life, it has been the best thing I have ever done.

Would you recommend the project to others?

Yes
