Hometown: Gloucester
Destination: Iguacu Falls, Brazil
Project type: Teaching English, cultural courses and language learning
Organisation: Travellers Worldwide
What were your impressions of your destination?
I absolutely adored my destination, it was a beautful city, so close to a rainforest and I was on the border with Argentina and Paraguay.
Was the work interesting and challenging?
The work was challenging it really pushed me to my limits and I saw my full potential. I did not realise you could reach out to so many struggling people just by teaching them something new. I found a real bond with them all, and I will remember them forever.
What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?
I stayed in a hotel which was very attractive and the staff were very helpfull, only 2 people who worked there spoke English, so it really challenged my ability to speak Portugese. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?
I had Ana as a guide and she was a real angel. She was so friendly and caring towards us, I was never lonely or lost when I was there. She helped us with absolutely everything she was also very interactive and social with us, I value her friendship immensely. Ana is perfect for this job.
Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?
Yes I am pretty sure I did, but I would have liked confirmation that my money also went to the people we are trying to help. Not just the UK company.
Would you recommend the project to others?
Yes
