Name: Trishia

Hometown: Ballynahinch

Destination: The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Project type: Conservation

Organisation: Real Gap

What were your impressions of your destination?

Beautiful location.  Amazing wildlife.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

Work was mundane. Before you go, you are given a list of things you will be doing concerning the Giant Tortoises. Basically all you do is clean up tortoise poo and feed them!

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

It was atrocious! Extremely basic. Big holes in the mosquito netting and holes in the walls where bugs galore were dropping onto my bed in their dozens.

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

Contact was all done by email- not very helpful if you dont have a computer with you.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

Absolutely not. The Galapagos National Park do not get any of the money you pay.

Would you recommend the project to others?

No
