What were your impressions of your destination?

Peru is such a beautiful country and I was living in Urubamba, in the heart of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by 6000m high mountains. It was quite hard adjusting to a completely different way of life, but I loved it there.

Was the work interesting and challenging?

I taught a group of English teachers from the Cusco region, which was a little intimidating at first, but I soon got to know them and it was really good fun. The lessons were very interesting and enjoyable, although some of the volunteers were disappointed because they thought that they were going to be teaching children and hadn't been told that it was the summer holidays.

What was your accommodation like? Did you feel comfortable and welcome at all times?

I stayed with a lovely family who immediately made me feel like part of the family. My room was comfortable and we had electricity. There was no running water for several hours a day but this affects the whole village and is normal. I was very happy with my host family.

Were you happy with the organisation and the staff that were responsible for you during your stay?

Although the staff were very friendly, they weren't always that helpful and I didn't feel that they were always available to help out. I think that this could definitely have been improved.

Do you feel that you got value for money on the project?

Not really, I paid a lot of money for the project, but my host family received very little of it.

Would you recommend the project to others?

Yes.
